چکیده

This paper reviews the information theoretic characterization of security in broadcast channels, in which a transmitter has both public and confidential messages intended for multiple receivers. All messages must be successfully received by their intended receivers, and the confidential messages must be kept as secret as possible from non-intended recipients. Various scenarios are considered in the context of twouser broadcast channels, for which known results on the secrecy capacity region are reviewed and corresponding coding schemes for achieving rates in these regions are described.

Toward an energy efficient PKC-based key management system for wireless sensor networks

Due to wireless nature and hostile environment, providing of security is a critical and vital task in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). It is known that key management is an integral part of a secure network. Unfortunately, in most of the previous methods, security is compromised in favor of reducing energy consumption. Consequently, they lack perfect resilience and are not fit for applications ...

An Overview of Group Key Management Issues in IEEE 802.16e Networks

The computer industry has defined the IEEE 802.16 family of standards that will enable mobile devices to access a broadband network as an alternative to digital subscriber line technology. As the mobile devices join and leave a network, security measures must be taken to ensure the safety of the network against unauthorized usage by encryption and group key management. IEEE 802.16e uses Multica...

A Physical-Layer Authentication Assisted Scheme for Enhancing 3GPP Authentication

The broadcast nature of radio propagation makes wireless networks vulnerable to eavesdropping attacks. To enhance authentication strength in wireless networks, various physical layer authentication schemes were proposed by exploiting physical layer characteristics. Recently, we proposed a novel PHYsical layer Phase Challenge-Response Authentication Scheme (PHY-PCRAS), which exploits both the re...

Broadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach

While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...

Physical Layer Security in PLC Networks: An Emerging Scenario, Other Than Wireless

We consider the secure transmission of information over power line communication (PLC) networks. The focus is on the secrecy guaranteed at the physical layer, named physical layer security (PLS). Although PLS has been deeply investigated for the wireless case, it is not the same for the PLC environment. Thus, starting from the knowledge in the wireless context, we extend the results to typical ...
